1st SOCCER GAME!!!!

Nathan had his first soccer game on Saturday. This was very fun! His team name is the dragons and they played really well, I was surprised to see how competitive they were at such a young age! Nathan started out the game really great he made three goals and was in great spirits. He was really excited because he had such a large group of people all their to cheer him on! After the first half he was getting really cold and his attitude took a turn for the worse! He just started walking of the field mid game and saying I am too cold! Oh well what can we do!!!??? We layered him up with his jacket and he Michelin maned it out on the field for a few more plays until he was done and ready for us to take him home! Well lesson learned layers layers layers!!!!!

I HAVE CREATED A MONSTER!

Nathan and I are on our way to soccer last week and he tells me that he has forgotten his sunglasses which seems tragic right......well to Nathan it really is. I try to keep a pair in my purse for the times he forgets to grab a pair from his ridiculous collection he has acquired. I dig in my purse and hand him back a pair and he says "Mom, those are not going to match my outfit!" When I arrive to soccer and meet up with Sam I tell him the story he laughs of course and then looks at me and says "You have created a monster"

I think that he may be right!!!! But there is no way I am taking all the credit!!!!

Nathans allergies

This morning Nathan is doing something that I have told him again and again not to do.......(refer to body snatchers in previous blogs) I asked him why it was that he choose not to listen and make these decisions? Clear voiced he looked at me and said "Well mom I am pretty sure I keep on making these decisions in my head due to by bad allergries" I responded back confused asking him to repeat himself he said "Yeah mom I keep on making bad choices because of my allergries" At this point I just excuse myself from the room so that he can not see me laughing.

Later on in the evening he came to us with a joke and blamed his sense of humor on his funny allergies so I got it on tape for some proof when he is older!

Soccer....just call me the chauffeur!

Nathan has started soccer and let me tell you this is some of the funniest free entertainment yet! He has practice two days a week from 6 to 7 pm. So that is where I am on Monday and Thursdays rain or shine and unlucky for us more rain than shine thus far! His first week of practice was some out of an epiphany for me. ALL boys this age don't listen and think they are the genius and the parent is the moron! I am so happy to see this I was thinking that I was the only parent that had the alien body snatchers come to my 4 year old son's birthday party! I have decided that through this blog I am going to include a passion I have found since being a mommy which is making a mental note of all the funny things kids say because let me tell you it is endless! The first week of soccer practice the coaches son who has listening skills that make Nathan look like an all star turns and looks at me after a funny play and says "That's some funny crap" I looked at Sam and said "did you hear that" He of course was oblivious and I just laughed until I almost peed my pants. This is a quiet reminder to me what my mother in law always says "little ears big pictures"

SNOWING IN MARCH????

So I am sitting at home and it is another gray day with lots of rain. When all of a sudden these monstrous snowflakes start coming down! In true Seattle lite fashion we shrug and laugh and tell Nathan it won't stick so we are sorry but throwing on a snow suit doesn't look like it is in the cards for his future. Well we were wrong we woke up this morning and we have snow stickage! Nathan is outside in his snow suit having a blast and I am wishing that my cold was gone so I could join him. The weatherman which in Seattle is always less than accurate says snow today again and tomorrow. Global warming.......hmmmm well whatever it is I am looking forward to some sunshine however the snow brings such a bright glare it almost makes me feel like the sun is out. The cheap thrills we seek......maybe this will be the clincher for Sam to take me on a vacation to a warm destination!

Nathaniel and swimming

So we started Nathan in swimming quite some time ago and I just thought I should post the pictures that I have of him passing P1 which was quite a challenge to say the very least. I believe he did P1 3 times until he finally passed. He started out being terrified of the water where this originates I am not sure but I am told that Sam was the same way as a child! After the second time of failing I decided that him and I should get in the water 3 days a week in addition to the 2 days a week that he was already committed to in swim class. I have taught at least 4 kids how to swim but Nathan was a challenge and I was more than happy to just throw some money at some over zealous instructor that was all too naive about what they were up against! By round three he was warmed up and ready for me to work some magic (laugh it up these are my bragging rights) In a week and a half he was a completely different kid and passed P1 with flying colors!

Below is a video I shot with my digital camera hence the quality but still such a great moment! This was the little boy that 14 days prior wasn't even willing to jump into the pool let alone swim by himself, WE ARE SO PROUD!

HERE GOES NOTHING!

So I have finally decided to try this blogging thing out! I have contemplated it for quite some time seeing as how I love to write and at the end of the day this could be a great creative outlet, as well as a place for me to archive some memories. It seems the busier life gets the less my brain seems to remember! Maybe my family and friends can actually keep up with our lives a little better since I am hardly winning a medal these days for keeping in contact with all of you! Even when I do have the energy to get on the phone I can rarely recount all of the latest happenings from the last time we spoke! I blame those holes in my brain on things like laundry dusting cleaning toilets dinner running after a 4 year old both mentally and literally! I could really continue with that one for awhile.....But in all reality life is great and we are truly blessed, I hope you enjoy all of the postings please be patient while I get a hang of it!
